Since we have been in Jamaica we have learned the term "Soon Come"
This means they are coming. They might come in 5 minutes or 5 hours. Our first dealing with this was when they called to deliver our furniture to our new apartment. We were in Kingston at a grocery store and the deliverman was in Spanish Town, which is about 15 minutes closer to our home than we were. Sister Hendericks said we were coming. We finished our shopping and headed toward Linstead. Just before we left they called again and said they were in Bog Walk and they would wait for us on Church Road. This is about 5 minutes from our house. We were still about 45 minutes away from them. They said they would just wait. They did and finally about a hour later we met up with them. That is the Jamaican way. They are not in any hurry. So everything here is Soon Come. The other saying is "No Worries".
People here are very nice and helpful. Everyone we pass speaks to us. They help us find things in town. (Not an easy task.) I have learned that everything is hard in Jamaica. We are still waiting for our landline to hook up the computer. But, Soon Come!!

I love it! It makes me realize how spoiled we all are here where we expect and demand everything NOW! I think I could use a little more of a "soon come", "no worries" attitude.
What was it elder uchtdorf said we fly throug the air in a 747 and complain about the size of the peanut package. Nick
